Time to Reflect on the Lesson...
FOR LEARNERS
Make time for some reflection right at the end of the lesson
Consider making a habit of stopping about 10 minutes before the lesson ends and have your learners reflect on:
the highlights of the lesson for them
the digital wins they experienced
the questions they still have
where they want to pick up in the next session
who they might want to connect with in the class for more collaboration
comments they have for their instructor / tutor
Ask for explicit feedback about the pace of the lesson, the usefulness of the activities and digital tools
FOR LBS PRACTITIONERS
After the lesson has ended you could consider the following:
What went well? Did the lesson flow or were you asking too much/tool little of your learners?
Where do you need to slow down and not rush certain activities or digital tasks? What might you need to review?
What are some ways that you as a practitioner can take learner feedback and learner reflections and fold these into future lessons, ensuring learners’ voices figure somewhere in subsequent lessons—making lesson planning more participatory?
Which students may need you to check in with them?
How could you modify your lesson pace and the activities to align with your learner needs?
