Sharing Some Inspiration in Our Virtual Staffroom

The PAL working group was eager to share of host of materials with each other. We are including some of the projects, templates, activities they chose to share. These were not co-created as part of the PAL project, but as with any staff room, giving each other some ideas for lesson inspiration is always welcome!!!

We hope some of the projects and topics covered below and shared by the PAL working group members are inspiring!

Project-Based Learning

All the working group members felt that project-based learning—although often not possible in some delivery formats—is a dynamic, multiple-day learning experience that has that gives learners some time to spend on an issue, a problem , a project, or a topic and work through it a many levels.  Portions are done individually, in groups and  with peer feedback, and often use multiple digital tools and platforms to achieve a goal.

Below are some projects and project pieces from Smita Parpani at the Toronto District School Board that could add a spark to some of your lesson planning.

Warm up activity

John from  The Literacy Group shared this warm-up activity slide.  It gives an opportunity for learners to look at language, vocabulary and perhaps discuss the concept of leap year in the final math question.
